You might want to try to play Wordle, invented by Josh Wardle, a word lover in Brooklyn, New York.
Wordle is a guessing game that gives a person six chances to guess the day’s secret five-letter word. Type in a word as a guess, and the game tells you which letters are or aren’t in the word. The game is free and has no ads yet. You can only play once a day and send your results to friends.
The creator of Wordle, software engineer Josh Wardle, said in an interview in January that he had been approached about turning the game into an app but had no plans to do so; however, he sold it to the New York Times in February and it is now on their website.

The revival of the unrated tourney at Embro (this time) was a great success.
Matt Schlegel's parents hosted the event in their home. The event consisted of 4 games played in two divisions - 6 players took part in the non timer division which was won by Anna Wodtka, a former Stratford player now living in Kitchener, and the 4 player timer division was won by Terry Aitken.
After the games we all enjoyed a barbecue supper which consisted of hamburgers, salad and the most scrumptious peach pie imaginable.
Matt's niece Hannah and nephew Connor, did a great job dealing with the challenges.

Henry de Young and Terry Aitken were given tickets for this event by a friend who worked for Scotiabank which organised the event, which was a charitable one to raise money for PAL (Performing Arts Lodge).
We went along with some trepidation because of the possibility of meeting some famous person from the world of film, radio, and TV and this did happen, but, as I said to one such person in the buffet queue, I had just resolved to treat people as people.
I did speak to Tom Harrington of Marketplace in the elevator, and tried to speak to Colin Mochrie (at the instigation of my daughter) but the latter was surrounded by a bevy of adoring females, so I got nowhere.
There was a silent auction where celebrities had submitted pictures they had painted, or built a birdhouse, or even just tied a set of flies. There was also a 50:50 draw, and you could buy an arm's length of tickets for $20.
We landed up sitting at tables for 4. At our table there were 3 regular Scrabble players, and one star, Nil Koksal, the CBC anchor for Saturday night. She proved to be a very pleasant and gracious person.
Bids could also be placed for top Scrabble players to help at your table! Bids for the top lady Scrabble player in North America, who lives in Toronto, reached $1000. Bids for the top male player, a former world champion from Montreal, reached $1200.
A buffet meal was served, and many Scrabble players from Toronto acted as volunteers, including John Chew, who ran the tourney. Each table just had one game.
With a blank in each of my first two turns, I was able to bingo (play all my tiles) both times, and won the game with 270 points. The top win was only 301, and the top win by a star was 269 ( the star also happened to be a good Scrabble player.)
There were generous prizes for these two categories, as well for the table with the highest combined total. I think that was 900 something, and likely because one of the experts, for whom they had bid successfully, had helped. Anyway it was a lot of fun, and a good way to raise money. Volunteers were also selling cheat sheets for $5 each. I offered to buy one for Nil, but she preferred to be sporting, and go it on her own.
